Joseph's 9th Birthday party

When everyone arrived they got to make their own Turkey target.

They thought it was fun to become cyclopses with the googly eyes!
Snow strom or not they were all ready to shoot their Turkeys!
We had enough time for 2 rounds 6 shots each.

Blowing out 9 candles can you believe it!  Is he really that old!

Joseph telling everyone a funny joke.

Sleepy Dani

Poor Dani was so sleepy that night because she had not taken a good nap in the day. She fell asleep before she ate any dinner.  In fact she fell asleep with a strawberry in her mouth, Joseph ran and got the camera, but by the time he got there it was too late.

Halloween

Here the kids are at school, they had to dress up as characters in a book. Amanda is Mary Jamison a girl who was taken captive by the indians, Joseph is Daniel Boone, Natalie is Rogue from X-MEN.
This is the kids the night of our Ward Halloween party

And this is Halloween night!

pumpkin surprise

I went to a friends baby shower recently and they had the yummiest treat there. I just had to have the recipe
It is called pumkin surprise. I made it last night for my family and they loved it too and it is so easy!

Thanks Erin for sharing your recipe with me :-)
Here is the recipe

PUMPKIN SURPRISE
2 c. canned pumpkin
1 can sweetened condensed milk
3 eggs, beaten
½ tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. Pumpkin Pie Spice
(If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice, you can use: 1tsp. cinnamon, ½ tsp. ginger, ¼ tsp. nutmeg, ¼ tsp. ground cloves = 2tsp. of pumpkin pie spice)
1 ¼ butter, cold
1 white or yellow cake mix (I like yellow)
Conbine the pumpkin, salt, milk, sugar, eggs and spice. Pour into a greased 9x13 pan. Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the top. Slice the butter very thin and cover the dry cake evenly with it. Bake at 350 for 45 min. Serve either warm or cold. Whip some cream the way you normally would and add a little bit of nutmeg, OR serve with vanilla ice cream.
(note: This calls for a lot of butter so I cut it down to 2 cubes and it worked just fine.) You could cut out some of the sugar too because it is pretty sweet. I think I will only put in a half a cup of sugar next time.

Pumpkin Carving Fun!

We carved pumpkins for FHE last night. I thought that I would be spared getting my hand yucky this year, but with Mikes broken finger I had to be the parent who helped get the yucky stuff out of the Pumpkins.  It was not too bad though.  We grew one pumpkin ourselves this year.  And since it was the smallest it is Dani's pumpkin.

Pine Wood Derby

So it was a big night!  Grandpa and uncle Russ came and at first we were nervous because all the other Pine Wood Derby cars were very cool looking and built for speed.   We did not know that there were special ways to build them to make them faster.  We just built something that looked cool.
But Josephs did well!  He won second place in his wolf den.  3rd place over all and the award for the best paint job.   So we were all happy with the result and Joseph was as pleased as punch to win a trophy!

Conference weekend

I loved Conference this last weekend!    The last two Conferences my kids have actually sat and watched almost all of it(except for Dani of course).  I guess it is a sign that they are growing up!
I wish I had been more producive with some projects that I had a goal of getting done over the long UEA Conference weekend, but at least I got things partly done.  I have been painting Nativity puzzles and My brother Russ and I helped Joseph get his pine wood derby car made.  I think it looks pretty cool!  And yes Joseph did help make it. But we did borrow Russ' drawing talent and some of my painting skills,

Dani's latest thing is wanting to climb up on everything!  If we don't keep our kitchen chairs pushed in this is where we find her!

Ear infection

Our poor Danielle has not been herself the last couple of days and we took her into the

Doctor this evening and she has double ear infections poor baby!  I have not had a kid with an ear infection for 11 years.  I hope it clears up.  I took these pictures just a few days ago.  She was playing a game where she kept throwing that ball in the bathtub.

Mikes broken finger

I forgot to mention that Mike broke his finger playing flag football a couple of weeks ago.  He had to have surgery and they found that his middle joint was too damaged to repair so the Dr. had to fuse the bone together.  So a lot of drama over one little finger.  He is also sad that just a little broken finger can keep him from playing on his football league now!

Our family

I started a crafting blog a couple of months ago and decided it would be nice to start a family blog too.  #1 to keep family and friends updated on our family and #2 keep almost an online family journal that will be of great worth in the future.
So here is the latest!  We have lived in Tooele Ut. for about 2 1/2 years now.  Natalie is 13 yrs old, Amanda is 11, Joseph is 8 and Danielle will be 14 months is a week.
The kids have started a new Charter school this year and really like it a lot!  It has been such a blessing to have another educational option here in Tooele.
Mike has been looking for a new job over the last month.  He has finally decided on a job with Conseco Insurance Company. It is a commision based job so we hope and pray it will work out and provide for our families needs :-)

We have really enjoyed having a baby in the house again over the last year and can't believe that our little Danielle Claire is already over a year old.  She keeps us on our toes these days now that she is so mobile.  She has been walking since her 11th month and so she is getting more and more sure footed all the time.  Her latest thing now is climbing up on the table so we have to make sure we slide the table chairs under the table.  It wont be long though that she will figure out how to pull them out.  Another thing Danielle is into right now is shoes.  If she spots a pair of her shoes she will bug you until you finally put them on her :-)
